I am very pleased with my prepping this week. I bought more canned foods from tesco. Sorted out my non food items into plastic storage boxes i have one full boxes prepped and this week need to buy more items to full up the second one. Then i will move on to prepping my Bug out Bag. And of course buy more canned foods this week plus buy bottled water.

Awaiting a LiveSaver filter flask - hopefully I can give that a trial at the weekend.
Am aiming to have a stock of "normal" tinned food for rotation etc and a stock of longer shelf life "store and forget" type foodstuffs - so have ordered a trial pack from Germany.
Of course, the tidying of stuff I do have, planning for where the stuff I don't have is going (especially water storage) & general list making is ongoing :)

After you've used it , remember to store it full of water as recommended. This will increase its life to a maximum of 5 years:

Spare filters every 250 litres can be bought at Silvermans/ebay....

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Just thought I would remind everyone to have some olive oil handy. it was very useful for helping me to remove earwax. you can warm it in a bain marie to make sure it is warm (but not warmer than body temperature, and maybe a bit cooler) and therefore runnier and better at getting the ear wax out.

Thanks. I hadn't appreciated it lasts longer if you do that rather than just leave it in the box.

I'm renewing and sorting first aid stuff just now, throwing away the out of date items.

Ordered myself another UV wand to help me in my fight against evil. I do believe that they can be useful in conjunction with other cleaning methods.

Just had my house valued to sell it off so I can become mortgage free again. Surrounded by boxes of stuff ready to move to new house on friday then I can begin a new chapter in my preps. More land to grow stuff but less storage space so it's turning out to be a great opportunity to de-clutter and try out new storage ideas. Seedlings are coming up nicely in their trays so hopefully I can transplant them as soon as I move in. Looking at the expense of converting from oil-fired to wood fired heating/water to improve my self-sufficiency, and avoid the huge cost increases that oil (and gas) users will no doubt face in the years to come. Also considering Solar PV (roof is good size/orientation), but that'll have to wait for an improvement in finances for now. Found an 'all-you-need' chicken supplier (coops, feed, equipment and POL birds, etc) just round the corner from the new house, perfect to give me advice on keeping chickens !

I just hope I manage to sell quickly as I'll be skint until it does

Not been doing a lot on the prepping front for the last fortnight :( as my time has been booked by family members and I am taking my mother of on a holiday to Devon soon. But I am slowly getting stuff together for a boot sale and once back I am hoping to get my stuff together and start prepping again.
