I know it would be cheaper and easier to stick a dutch oven on a fire but it might still be of interest, especially if you were cooking for a larger family or a group in a static location. It looks easy enough that even a ham fisted DIYer like me could manage it:

I have seen one built with cement and fire clay mixed with straw instead of just clay. This would make is more weather proof for UK use.
