Post by johnmc69 »

Hi all I've been prepping for a while now both myself and my surroundings but i'm a bit stuck for bug out locations, any advice? Seems to me if TSHTF that its only a question of time before the friendly bloke round the corner with 4 kids will be breaking my door down to see what i have, also i'm disabled with arthritis so cant move fast!

Hi all, sorry forgot to say a bit about myself so... Ever since i was a kid i've looked about at the world and thought TSWHTF at some point and it may be in my lifetime, i tried joining the army at 16 but was told to join the T.A instead so spent 5 years in the Duke of Wellingtons infantry during the cold war. Got some excellent training from the regs and learnt alot of skills and mindsets i still carry with me now. When the cold war ended i got out and since then have trained in martial arts (armed and unarmed), mainly Aikido which i loved with a passion until i started with aches and pains that have turned out to be arthritis. I have spent the last three years doing recurve archery and have just acheived the range of 70 metres with fairly good groupings, i find it relaxing and the lads at the club are great.
I met my wife three years ago and was happy to find she had the same frame of mind as myself so i started a food store, just a few extra cans a week and such which over the years has expanded to bug out bags with the bog standard stuff. But as you all proberly know its never complete and wanting to take it to the next level have joined this site, flicking through i can see many like minded people with interesting things to say so i guess i'm in the right place. Sorry i didnt put this in my first post but i'm currently sat in a hotel reception in Greece and cant spend long at the keyboard, i intend to pay this much more attention when i get home later today. Anyway i could ramble on for ages but dont want to bore!
