I for one have a Leatherman wave and a SAK, a led torch (Lenser P7) and lighter with me at all times.

The Leatherman has been invaluable and the best bit of kit I ever owned - I got in when I was in the military and never looked back.

I originally had the cheap versions (some still in my various tool kits) but would not now go back, for me its Leatherman all the way!

I have got the leatherman wave and it is a quality thing, but the blades on it lock so you cant really carry it around with you. I know that it's a multi tool and not a knife but I have a mate who got nicked for it buy the police! Whats why I don't carry mine around with me, I just have a little spyderco bug on my keys or sometimes I might use my Victorinox farmer.
If it is a multi tool you want and don't want to pay out for a wave the leatherman wingman is grate for the money and it has a box opener it for all those parcels getting delivered, haha!

I have a Leatherman wingman. Whilst I do not carry it all the time it is great when I am predator fishing. The pliers are perfect for unhooking, and the blade good for bait cutting. It saves space and weight in me fishing kit.

I carry a Gerber Legend. Have done since i finished my Mechanics course at uni. Always comes in handy when fixing vehicles of all types. Solid, brilliant piece of kit. I wouldnt know about others as this is the only one i have ever owned but it is superb.

look forward to the review, I have a few of the cheaper ones. Have used them a few times, but not been convinced as yet that it would be a good choice weighing cost against use.

Stay safe

Ive had several cheap ones the pliers tend to fail when you need them the most with the handles squeezing together...
