Hello
This is my first real post on UK-Preppers so here goes....
I have 2 questions, my first is where is best to purchase a Crusader cook set? I have been looking on eBay at the BCB Crusader set but want to make sure that it is the best option or is their a better website out their than eBay?
My second question is what wet rations would you recommend? I have plenty of Mountain house freeze dried food but am looking to add wet ration foil pouches to my inventory. I have looked into Wayfayrer but again would like some other ideas before I purchase them.
Thank you for your help

Re: Equipment / Ration Advice
when you say wet ration pouch`s , do you mean army ration type . if you do then just go with army rations .every thing you need for 24 hours , if you are economical with the amount You eat they can stretch to 36 hours . they have a good shelf life and if stored correctly they can go past the use by date , by how much i`m not sure .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .

Hello
Yes I mean army rations in the foil pouch, is their a decent website that you have any experience using that supplies them?
Do you mean the British Army or US equlivent ration?
Also I haven't any experience with them. How do they taste, and sustain you?
Thanks

Regarding the crusader BCB Cook set, shop around on the web. Plenty of Options and Ebay is not always the cheapest.

Hi,
The crusader can be used with the hexamine fuel blocks, green gel or good old BBQ lighter blocks. They're pretty efficient but work best with a LID on the crusader mug. It makes the contents boil quicker.
The Jetboil is the mutts doo'dahs but its gas only.
Visit sofmilitary.co.uk, rvops or ukkitmonster. These guys aren't the cheapest but you get proper gear from them.
Freeze dried food means carrying extra water. Old style UK rat packs are good. I've eaten one 11 years old and it was fine. Full of calories for when you're on the move but they tend to bung you up!

Just a quick add on to that. The old style UK rat packs, were only ever intended to be used continuously for a period of 14 days. As they would lead to serious constipation after that. They are a good starting point, for any stockpile but you may want to think about. Other additions and supplement them with other types of storable foods for a long term situation.
