It's quite funny in a way this.
I'll get to my bag in a minute, but when out walking my mate just started a conversation about a BOB. I've not told him I'm a bit of a prepper, and he has never mentioned anything before. The conversation skimmed over things about prepping. Not sure if we were both testing the water to see how much we each actually did.
I will however bring the conversation up again on our next hike out.

Anyhow, as has been said above, I always have a 'just in case' bag.
It's a 5.11 grab bag (upgraded from an army MTP ammo/grab bag but the same thing really) and in it I keep a bit of cash, some food & water, a torch, some light sticks, a small knife and a rescue knife (belt/rope cutter etc) fire making stuff paracetamol, asprin and ibuprofen and also a resonable first aid kit. I also have a hip flask  note book and pencil (remember that the americans spent a fortune developing a space pen, the Russians simply used a pencil) some vaseline/lip balm, earphones for the phone (act as antennae for the radio app) and a couple of other bits and bats.
I guess it is just my handbag really  but has things in there 'just in case'.

Sorry guys, looks like they've stopped making them (had mine for about 2 years). Feel like a bit a a tease!

This one is very similar though with the detachable daypack.

*Small pack of fruit flavour energy pills.

In the car boot is a 5.11 MOLLE type backpack which is my main BOB. If you're not bored yet, this contains:

Both the tin and my BOB are fairly military survival orientated but I review and change the contents on a regular basis.....

Longer term supplies and BOBs for my Wife and Son have to be kept out of sight as my Wife still thinks I'm crazy......

From a female preppers' point of view who is a girly girl and loves frills and labels.

I have just bought a new Osprey leather handbag from TK Max, retail price at £285 but bought for £79.00. It is big enough to carry most of my edc stuff so am very happy with it. Thought about a backpack etc but since I'm a driving instructor, am never far from my car, so most of my other stuff is in a backpack in the boot and now I have my lovely handbag which I've wanted for sooooo long. (by "other stuff" I mean my BoB).

In my edc I have:

Lighting and warmth :

torch
lighter
15 wind and water proof matches with strike bit

medication and such stuff:

7 day medication kit with my meds and vitamins in it
pack of fisherman friends throat lozenges
paracetamol
insect repellent
factor 50 sun screen
blister pack & band aids
party feet gel cushion pads for shoes

general hygiene:

makeup bag
hair brush
wet wipes
travel size deodorant stick
female necessities
5 hair bands
travel kit tooth brush and cover with toothpaste
tissues
small travel size handcream
nail polish remover pads
bottle of my favourite nail polish

general stuff:

Cross pen and pencil set with a notepad
Radley purse
Radley coin pouch
Blackberry with Radley phone cover
calculator
Barclay card pinsentry
£1 coin keychain capsule
cashstash capsule for £20 note
foldaway shopping bag
diary

food and water:

roll of peppermints
5 energy bars
bottle of water
water purification tabs
fruit - which I take every day
plastic fork, knife and spoon set in a little box
small container with tomato, brown sauce and salt, pepper and sugar packages

I've been watching youtube for female prepping ideas and am slowly but surely getting my edc together nicely, still have a bit of things I want to get though but this is what I carry with me every day. There are also some good ideas on the pininterest boards.

don't forget the most important item:
A good quantity of toilet roll, (Any one who has spent a time in the bush will know you can only wipe so long with dot levees, as long as they aren't contaminated )

jansman wrote:I have got to the point that I carry as little as possible. EDC Swiss Army Knife,Zippo lighter ,led torch(lenser) length of paracord and large hankie. Chuck on a water bottle(nowt fancy, a PET bottle will do).Good to go. I ain't Bear Grylls-thank God.
That's pretty much all I carry on my person apart from a bit of cash. I'm rarely more than a days walk from home anyway and normally have my vehical as I work from it so there is more stuff in there. Apart from tools, there is a first aid kit, blanket, water and plastic sheeting to make shelter if necassary. In my LDV van I made a box to fit under the passenger seat which contained a bit of food, gas cooker and some other bits and bobs but I now have a transit and Ford in their wisdom have put a brace under the seat to stop me putting my box there  .
The only other thing I commonly have on my person is a couple of carrier bags.Useful for so many things from handling greasy or dirty stuff to coming home with one half full of foraged cherries (yesterday that was :D )
