Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Wind-up lanterns (LED), torches (LED), and latterly 72 LED Rolson camping lights. These are awesome. They chuck out light on minimal power. A lot will use candles-We have them. However, they are a major fire risk, because most folks in a power cut will use them. And most folks are stupid. They really are last resort.

We have lots of candles torches wind up rechargeable you name it, and Jansman's right, I was chatting with a former fireman the other day and he told me of a fire risk no one mentions much yet they try all they can to warn of it... remote controls down the side of the sofa, buttons get pressed fresh batteries get really hot and sofa goes up, along with everything else, we used to be really worried when my father in law smoked in bed and saw the duvet cover 's burns, we're not used to dealing with fire and our homes are tinderboxes these days. However, they are a major fire risk, because most folks in a power cut will use them. I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
Re: Keeping things Lit!
head torch x 5
hand torch x 6
coleman lamp x 1
wind up lantern x 1
arc lamps on a stand x 2 , these run off the small genny so i`d have to be desperate to use them .
and load of candles as a last resort , as been said , fire risk .

i have to admit jansman like you say fire is a major risk, you would only need one house to go up and it would be very difficult to control the spread,be even more of a nightmare if you lived in flats or apartments, sorry to go off topic, back on i have lots of glow sticks, wind up lanterns, torches, head lamps and candles as last resort
Re: Keeping things Lit!
Candles, led lights, solar lanterns I keep in the house, windup and battery torches
Re: Keeping things Lit!
a couple of 99p stores LED head lamps, candles, makeshift olive oil lamps (stock up on galvanized wire and the round thin lamp wicks at the hardware store before the winter comes in)
reperio a solutio
