First post after introduction!!
My main effort for the week is to clear a pile of wood thats been seasoning and get it chopped, logged and stacked. I reckon 2 or 3 of the pieces each morning before work will crack it.
My subsidiary effort is to undergo an honest self- appraisal of where I'm at with my general preparedness. I'm new to this, so I feel I need to take stock and decide quickly on a prep plan.
Someone somewhere should do something!

Thanks PP, I had a survey completed to see if the chimney behind was suitable first.

Hi Dingo! Getting your fuel ready to use is a great prep for practically anything. Are you using a particular website to plan out what you need? Of course, food and water, first aid kits, and vehicle readiness for winter will cover 98% of all scenarios....

I am pleased to say that the pantry is stocked, the animals and crops are good, and (most ) of the preserving done. Everything is in place for the Winter. For us here at Chez Jansman it has been one hell of a rollercoaster year. Without the preps, I reckon we would have been scuppered.
However I would say that it is not just about *stuff*. It is about mindset too. Life is good , regardless of world news. Mushrooming season has started, along with Pike fishing.

What has this to do with 'How are you prepping?' Well it is about not getting too paranoid about the end of the world. Look at what you have. Enjoy.

Lure fishing is addictive. A lure rod is cheap. If you have a go, make sure you use a wire trace. Great fun :D

Purchased 10 tubes of Repair and Protect sensitive toothpaste (reduced to £2.99 thus saving me over £1 per tube) which should be enough to keep me going if I cant get to the shops for a month because of snow, ice, frost, trick or treaters etc.

This week I've been picking up a few extra food items on shops to store away including dried fruit and some tinned veg as well as planning out what other items I'll need and the quantities as well.

Not very much but at least it's something! I have plans to go buy some more torches or solar powered lights this weekend or on Monday as well.
