How about para-cord anklets?

Slightly longer i know but no way can i risk wearing a bracelet / wrist watch etc at work due to operating rotating machinery

Just an idea :)
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Probably a better idea than bracelet for me too I'm always in and out of the kitchen and dishwater, that man woman wild chap uses it for boot laces, wrapping it around things like knife sheaths works for me too, and how about old cycle inner tube cut up and slipped over a belt or sheath, it's the bomb proof fire lighter, I bought some cheap ones from Aldi you can stick it on rucksack straps and allsorts of things.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
