This is details from eBay listing
The TTS-3WCREE is a premium quality universal 3 Watt LED bulb upgrade designed for maximum light output built to our specification. This LED upgrade is the brightest available universal 3 Watt replacement for the standard bulb, to fit a variety of torches, that we know of being produced anywhere in Europe. This is ideally suited to many good quality torches such as the Maglite brand which have a metal bulb retainer.

The TTS-3WCREE features:-

180 Lumens of light output - LED brightness is vastly higher than the equivalent incandescent bulb in the same power torch

Utilises the premium performance 180 Lumen 3 Watt CREE XP-E LED.

Operates on a wide voltage range of 3.2 - 9.0V DC (brightest at 4 volts plus)

Can be powered by all types of rechargeable and standard alkaline batteries (typically 4 to 6 rechargeable cells or 3 to 6 of 1.5v standard alkaline cells to have best performance)

Consistent brightness and colour regardless of battery condition

Does not fade significantly when hot, maintains a high output of over 50% for up to 15 hours with a 3 D cell torch powered by standard alkaline cells

Electronic regulation for rock steady light output

Never burns out - an incredible 50,000 hour life expectancy (6 years of constant use!)

Shock-resistant, much more durable than the incandescent bulb

Produces pure white light even when the batteries are low

Longer battery life results from the circuit built into the unit which completely utilizes the power from the batteries, whilst maintaining constant light output.

The LED upgrade has reverse polarity protection.

Dramatically extends runtime, approximately 15 hours runtime on 3 standard D cells

Easy fitment, just a straight exchange for the original bulb

Much better spill than with the original bulb (see the picture below)

The light produced will only dim near the end of the batteries' lifetime. It only gradually fades, not a sudden drop out of light

12 month warranty against defects as with all our products

This LED upgrade is superior to the competition due to the CREE LED. Cree is the world leader in LED technology. Cree LEDs deliver unmatched brightness, colour quality, consistency and efficiency (lumens per watt). The vast majority of high end torch manufacturers now use the CREE LED.

N.B. This will not fit the latest LED Maglites with LEDs already fitted (MagLED) that have the letters "DL" at the start of the serial no. on the barrel as that LED is fixed in place. This LED bulb will also not fit the the very latest Maglites which have the bi-pin (two legged) STAR II Xenon bulb. The Star II bulb is much smaller than the traditional bulb and has two legs with a plastic base fitting.

another upgrade to look at is a replacement for the end cap, swap out the standard cap for one that can be used to bust glass.
eg xcapecap or bustacap both available via Ebay.

I'd not like to be bumped on the noggin by either ;)
