Im a country girl who has probably been a prepper most of my life. I really took things seriously when i had a family preparing for times of hardship.
Over the years world events made me look a little deeper at myself and whether i could support my family in a real crisis. Its gone from keeping store food to being more of a serious prepper. I keep chickens and grow veg in my little garden and am learning new skills. I grew up going to archery each week and though its illegal to shoot off private land i see it as a good skill to have. I have been learning to shoot a rifle because when i did the national geo quiz it said security was a weakness.
Im learning about Aquaponics and am trying to revamp a very tired old pond.
I feel im at a stage where i need the input from other preppers.
Although i have the support of my partner and kids they see it as one of my idiosyncrasies.
I have been with my partner for 6 years and after having many years as a single mum with 4 kids its hard to let someone else do the providing, this is my way of providing for the family above and beyond paying the bills and mortgage. Not many people think about "what if" because they have always had, never having gone without.
I want to make sure my family learn the skills nessesary to manage in a real crisis as i am but one woman.
Im excited about finding a uk Prepper site and hope to bend the ear of many of you who have the skills i would like to learn. I am open to advice and suggestions and look forward to being part of a like minded group of people.
