One of my contracts is trago mills, while I was in there yesterday I popped in to see if they had anymore of the ball & mason/ kilner type canning jars in, they had them in half and full litre sizes and best of all they were knocking the litre ones out at £1.89 each! So another two dozen of those here ready, also picked up four 5ltr containers of vinegar for £10 while I was there.
Digging up and storing all the potatoes this weekend.

I have just purchased a lightweight first aid kit for my everyday carry as follows:

It's probably a little bit extreme, but have also invested in some celox gauze z-fold and a small pair of trauma scissors; I am not sure if everything will fit in the bag provided, but with an elastic bandage and a tourniquet I should be set.

looks like a good FAK for on the go activities...

having recently had to walk for what felt like miles along the south bank in london to various meetings i felt the twinge of blisters right at the end of it - had to treat them that night and the next morning i needed very soft shoes and compeed - so I'm adding some of them to my mini FAK and my grab bag FAK - very small but very effective - worth adding to any EDC bag if you think you mayhave to walk for a while in shoes that you'd not normally cover big distances in..

Today ive added 15L petrol and filled my 5L tank up on my moped it will do 120 miles on 5L so ive got enough to cover 480 miles, so plenty of fuel to keep me going for now if i am strapped for cash at anypoint. Ive added 4 tins of bean, 4 tins of tomatoes, 6 packs of noodles, 3 packets of pasta in sauce(dried) bicarbonate of soda 6 tins of ravioli, 5 tins of stewed steak, 3 tins mushy peas and finally 3 tins of chicken in white sauce

I bought a second hand gossamer gear g4 rucksack today - at 66l it's a bit bigger than I need, but having had it on the scales at 505g it's clear that the extra space is unlikely to be a problem.

I have a few camping trips planned, so sure it will come in handy then.

Sloe gin in the cupboard doing its thing. Will pick more this weekend and do another batch.

A call went out at work asking for people to volunteer being first aiders. I jumped at the chance - the training will be invaluable.

I have one of these with a leak - assuming you have a tilley lamp, any idea how hard it is to perform a service?
