Very little for the actual storm itself, as I generally have things at a state of readiness (a food / water supply, spare batteries etc.). The garden was cleared of loose objects over the weekend and I bought a few odds and sods, to replenish supplies, on Saturday.

This evening I will do the following in preparation for a power cut and problems with the water supply, which, going on past experience, I am expecting:

i. Making sure that all batteries are fully charged;

ii. Filling up the spare water containers, as well as the kettle / water jug etc.;

iii. Making a couple thermos flasks of hot drinks (one tea, one coffee);

iv. Ensuring that the battery powered radio is tuned into the local radio station;

v. Having a bath and a shave! As I mentioned earlier, I don't trust the water supply;

vi. Charging up the walkie talkies. Hopefully, I will have to use these!! :lol:

Take care everyone.

Brought the bike in, plus the smaller plants. Took the plastic cover off the greenhouse and moved the heavier plants next to the house. Checked / changed batteries in all the torches and the radio. Charged up the mini DAB radio. Tuned the radios to the local station. Will give my phone and laptop a final charge before I go to bed.

Well, it's certainly the quiet before the storm here. Nothing yet to report.

Put new batteries in the battery operated alarm clock as a back up to the mains powered one. Whatever happens OH still has to get up in the morning for work!!
