This week I have had to learn just how many of my bits and bobs seem to be dependent on the efficient running of an internet connection. We lost ours in those strong winds. So my preps this week consist of backups and printed stuff.

Mind you, I now have enough jam to sink a battleship.

Tonight I will be looking in Asda for some suitable tins to have a go at making my own hobo wood burning stove over the weekend.

prepping has takne a bit of a back seat starting a new job and moving from self employed to be ing full time and trying to finish off jobs I aklready had to do but this new job has proved quite good for prepping as I am now working in a a candle making factory and one of the perks recently was that they had a load of old samples they where clearing out so got a couple of church candles actually seconds and about 2 dozen assorted scented candles so now looking forward to a power cut wont need to worry about keeping warm lol

On the down side due to working insane hours from both jobs my stock of spare food has been used up due to not having time to shop :(
Not planning for the end of the world just to survive till normality resumes, while sticking to the scout moto be prepared!

Still considering do I want to survive the end of the world or deck chair on the front lawn with a cold beer?

That's great bob! Hope you get lots more supplies of candles from your new job, I've been having problems finding a good old fashioned candle, not a tea light, not blueberry scented, not glitter filled or colour changing, just a bog standard candle, lol seems they don't do them in my neck of the woods, amazon again I think.

Have ordered my water purification tablets though and the wind up lantern has arrived safely.
Making progress :)

This week I've just sorted my BOB and rotated some food, so got some surprise cereal bars and kendal mint cake to eat, as well as some tinned food to add to the larder for next week, also need to look for new boots and break them in with a few walks/runs after work

got myself a dinky little 12 LED collapsible camping lantern from one of the 99p / pound shoppy things. It works on 4 x AA batteries (which I also got on the cheap) and is actually pretty bright for what you get.

Well like most weeks I go shopping and put a few extra bits in for my preps this week;

Canned pineapple chunks and peaches in juice (Both full of goodness and good for hydration)
oats (good for breakfast)
Canned hot dogs (last a good few years, cheap, protein, calories and you can have them with most things i.e. pasta and rice)
and ordered my self some freeze dried products

Wonder what next weeks purchases will be . . . . . .
