What can I teach you?

Post by redskies »

Prompted by various PM's.

On my useful skills list are

Knitting (basics)
Crochet (basic to advanced)
Tunisian Crochet (basic to medium level)
Peglooming (basic to medium level)
Spinning (basic to medium)

I am happy to use skype to teach anyone who wants to learn. If you're interested, please give me a shout :)

Thats a very generous offer, redskies - I'd love to do one or two of these for fun, and the spinning definitely from a prepping aspect, but I'm going to wait till my fingers are less stressed. Very much appreciated, though.

I really have struggled to understand knitting from all the videos online. A series of photos on this forum would help alot. on top of that, its worth while looking at costs and working out how much yarn you need to make anything.

I can do a series of photos. But I believe skype would be even easier. It means you can say things like ''show me that again!''

I have tried many times to knit, but just can't cast on. I have watched many YouTube clips but just can't do it. Is there a different technique to use for left handed people compared to right?

Yes! On the continent, they knit the opposite way to us in the UK. I've watched a German friend doing this, and I've never seen anyone knit so fast. There's a pile of videos here - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... structions and if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

I knit the UK way, but I may be able to find someone to help out too :)

I'm friends with a lady from Germany who knits. Not sure if she does skype, but I'm sure I could persuade her!
