72H buckets

hey guys im just starting to make some 72h buckets and im not 100% sure what to use can u guys and gals give me some sort of idea

i meen i have a 1kg pack of in each but i don't know if i should add more rice or vary what else i put in

also i was thinking of storing some 24h ration packs but as these are long term i want to keep them separate


( finaly got a job so if they ant to cheep let me know )

I suppose all depends on why you think you might need these 72h buckets, where are you storing them, what do you like, are you looking at food to cook or snacky type foods.

Can you list what you have already put in them so that will give us an idea of what else you might want to add.

If you on with 72 hour why not stuff a few MRE's in there and american style ration heaters and a pack of "ships biscuits" bet they taste like cardboard mind

litrly i have only put in 1kg of rices in each just got the job so some free money floating around so i thort id pick some stuff up next shop day ( its mainly for the wife and kids) i have 20+ 24h army ration packs stored for my self with alot more on the way (50+) btw im planning on making some where in the lines of 10+ per pirson for a long term survival

clever lol i have water and a camping stove and mess tins to cook them in

just wondering if for a short time is rice even efficient in the terms storage space / risk of getting damp, the water needed and amount of cooking time Over say those 99p pre cooked bags of rice you zap in the microwave or boil in the bag???

I have a stock pile of rice as its one thing that cant go wrong stored in dry place. speaking to a friend of mine originally from pakistan, over there the older the rice is the more expensive. . . over here tesco have the cheek to put a 2016 use by date one... hahahahaha sorry tesco im not your slave!

So, what is this bucket for?

72 hours I understand, but are they a total three day Bug-in kit or like a food parcel or a Bug-out kit (like a BoB) or a Soft-Bug-out kit (sometimes called a Hotel-bag or a Sister-Bag )

You mention making up 10+ per person.......Is that going to be all identical kits or LTS* ?

How big are your buckets and is the lid durible ?

The more you can tell us, the better suited our advice can be
