I work around moving plant machinary and end up with high vis trousers and jackets for most of the day....
one thing i have noticed that after dark people genarally stop far faster when your on a zebra crossing ..
Traffic slows when they drive towards you (probably think im a nasty police man with a speed gun) Ok you look like a total tit walking round in a built up area but im not going home to change to go back out shopping ...
But that is all a given but thinking in a Shtf situation Been conspicous could be a aid.
I took charge of a serious HGV tanker accident and once i put this on which lives in my large first aid bag in the car boot (im one of the first aiders at work )
People actually respect you (that and i actually knew what to do) ...
And where as i have been trying to direct traffic in the standard workmans high vis in the past when i was in a van crash people ignored me. I noticed one hell of a difference ..
Ok you would probably be jumped up and down on if you had something like a Police style vest on.. in a major law and order incident ...
But thinking back to a traffic accident or your car dies on a main road and your trying to change a wheel how many on here have a high vis in their EDC / car kit?
there are lots of styles of vests out there which are far more eye catching than the standard boring 2 belts 2 braces bright yellow

got one of these tonight to add to the car boot in case i have to get out the car when im not in my work clothes as it stood out far more IMo

although the photos dont do it justice ..
IMO low light orange stands out better than yellow which is better in daylight..
But my colour blind mate says orange doesn't jump out at him like yellow....
