Survival Instruction Guide on how to build stuff

Post by Eltharian »

Hey all
Im looking for a book that gives instructions on building things.
Examples: How to build Alcohol stills(for disinfecting or for fuel) How to build solar systems from scratch, How to build radio systems from scavenged parts, wood gas generators and so on.
I watched a great tv series where they did all of this called The Colony (2009)
I recommend this series it was a great watch just too see all they built and did.
What they ended up with in the end was really good considering all was built from scratch.

So if anyone has info for this kind of stuff or do it yourself books or survival guides they can recommend I would really appreciate it.

I don't think there's a book that would cover everything y are looking for.

However, all that information is readily available on the Internet, whether on this forum, or YouTube and the like.
So you can download the info, print it out and build your own folder with everything you need.

Hi Guys im a newby
Solar panels ( if your stuck ) can be pinched off some road side signs / lights in an emergency as all the parts are there to make a lighting system for your hide/final location.

I would urge anyone to just look up plans and videos etc and then actually make the item, there is nothing quite like it for leaning and you also get to iron out the wrinkles. Being prepared in theory is so different to practice, as I know many of you know. :)

I agree. Built a clay oven in 2012, planning to build a solar dehydrator in 2014. Life got in the way in 2013 to have a project :(

Members on here have been trying the flower pot and tea light heater experiment after seeing the video.
Some make their own fuel.

If you don't try it now how will you know if it works...
