Firstly, no. I would not be using these to actually shoot anything. I use it strictly for sport, within the law.

I have realistic looking airsoft guns which require a licence because they LOOK REAL.

In a WROL scenario, could I use these guns as a bluff? Dress up in my replica military gear and just 'pretend'? How likely would people be to believe that?
No, they could not be used as a bluff. If I saw anybody with a realistic looking weapon in the UK, the first thing I would think is, "that's not real".

Sorry, but that's a bit nieve. There are probably 1000's of illegal guns in the UK, maybe more, who knows. Not just genuine firearms but also converted decommissioned guns and replicas. For £1500-£2000 you can buy a semi automatic 9mm pistol, mac 10's and even hand grenades. Heaven forbid, but if there is any sort of civil unrest and people are on the streets, I don't want to be anywhere near them.
Look at the riots, all sorts of people got caught up in the looting frenzy and we're arrested, including teachers, firemen and a solicitor.
Wandering around the streets dressed as a pretend soldier with a toy gun whilst that is kicking off is special needs, not special forces.

And the first for the nomination for best quote of 2014 awards!
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

I find it very hard to understand why people have to focus so much of their energy on looking for 'weapons'!

We don't live in the USA.....
Obviously a gross generalization, but I think it has a lot to do with how men and women think of 'survival',
for us blokes fighting, hunting and deafening yourself are usually the first thing that jump to mind.

To be honest though not really sure what America has to do with it?

20-30 years ago perhaps there was an argument to be made that the US was this 'violent land' where weapons were necessary,
while good old blighty was much more civilized and we didn't have the need for such things....blitz spirit and all that.

These days though......

Britain has always been a place of terrible violence, but it has always been isolated and rarely random. I can't comment on whether that has or is changing, but it is try to say that Brits have never been sweet or innocent. Civil maybe, but never innocent. ;)

Unfortunately what's the point in preparing for anything if as soon as the shtf somebody takes it all away from you. Right now there are areas of this country I wouldn't dream of walking through in the middle of the night. The people that cause this are not going to have food or water store's, but when they need it there's no telling how far they will go. No matter where you live on this over populated island they wont be far away. For me any ways our personal security is high on the list.

An interesting idea but i would say very dangerouse, most people would not know the difference and anyone who is armed would not take the chance (they would shoot you), it would make you a target from people that want a gun.
you are better off with an air rifle or bow at least you can hunt rather than just lug a pice of plastic around.
alternatively take up the sport of shooting and enjoy being outdoors. As a shooter i find it hard to do airsoft or paintballing as the training makes it feel wrong to point a gun at anyone. which is odd given i was in the TA.
