I treated myself to a hatchet for a fiver, I've got a fairly hefty kukri I use for chopping firewood etc as it quite light weight but for a fiver you can't go wrong. If I can justify the full size bad boy to Her Maj, I'll probably get one, just 'cos.The-Mendologist wrote:They were cheap, so i got one of each just for fun.

I looked at these axes in Aldi and wasn't impressed the haft looks like it is made of plastic. It may be good for light garden work but I don't think it would last very long at all in the outdoors
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, Give a man religion and he will starve to death waiting for God to feed him.

The shafts are made from fibreglass, the theory is that no vibrations reach your hands and the shafts are supposed to last longer than hickory.DarkArcher777 wrote:I looked at these axes in Aldi and wasn't impressed the haft looks like it is made of plastic. I have not tried my ones out as of yet, but if they last you a couple of years, then you have had you monies worth out of them.

Hi Beardyman, Would you be good enough to post a short intro? Cheers m'dear.BeardyMan wrote:Just went to have a gander. I'll stick with my SFA. Look bloody awful, shoddily made. Don't see 'em lasting very long at all. Could be wrong though, happened a couple of times before
