Ooof where to start , sutures are available to buy freely on the net at major first aid supplies , sterile , in date , google is your friend about £5 a pack
If a wound is that bad needing stitches your in major trouble
Pain Management
Wound cleaning
Stiching kit ( forceps , skin tweezers, sterile field etc )
Tetanus
Antibiotics
Daily wound cleaning packs and saline or possibly chlorahexadine.
And stitch removal
Not to mention infection that you are sealing in
If you have no training , and i mean frontline NHS or MOD , forget it , yes have the kit incase someone with more skills than you can do it but your toast if you need stiches .
Think more than steristips elastopast tape , and your in trouble .
This is obvoiusly in a SHTF event with no hospitals /aid stations available .

Be Prepared.
Plan like its the last loaf on the shop shelves.
Plan like its the last beer in the fridge.

Best to leave that 3 inch flap of skin dangling then?
My prepping consists of bugging out by bicycle so any comments are likely to be based on that scenario.
Re: Sutures
i think so long as your not bleeding out , the sterrie strips will do .
the accident i had earlier this year need two hours of surgery but was sealed enough to stop the bleeding with just strips .ok it would have been a ugly scar but i could live with that . if i could get the hang of posting pics i`d show you the before surgery pic

YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .
