Have you had a try at making it yet Scoobie, we did some a few years back, and it works for other meats as well, I think we did chickenscoobie wrote:I *love* peppered beef jerky.. YUM!

Hmm we often make jerky and it's intended for storage. Miraculously it never makes it there.
And I very much enjoy making soap. Scented, special shapes, colours, they make lovely presents as well. Throw in a bathbomb in the same scent and you have a happy receiver.
Being given a bought bar of soap just doesn't have that... je ne cést quoi.

It would be very useful to have a tutorial on basic soap making. Do you think you could manage that DD? Please...Dutchie Delta wrote:Hmm we often make jerky and it's intended for storage. Miraculously it never makes it there.

Re: LSG Book and E-Book
I suspect from the above you had a hand in these books(the bit about links to my new book full of NEW STUFF is the clue).I am afraid anyone who writes ,makes films etc. sets themself up for criticism, good or otherwise.the-gnole wrote:If you cannot get soap after the event, where will you get the chemicals?
Fat, Lye and water are the three ingredients needed, all easily obtainable.
And Lye is made using wood ash and water, just in case anyone is wondering

I look forward to reading your books which will of course be full of NEW stuff that none of us has seen before, have you links to them?I agree totally!but as a prepper I thought I MIGHT see something new.The information contained should be understood before the event.
A look at this forum might show otherwise http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/search ... id=2517131Also a lot of it is Amero-centric.We don't make jerky in this country
A lot of people have dehydrated meats as snack foods when out on their wanderings, and making it is so much cheaper than buying it in low weight bags at exorbitant prices.
Sorry if I rattled your cage,'cos your post looks like I did.
My original post on this subject was quite some time ago, with NO reaction. All the above wouldn't have anything to do with my opinion of the registration process at LSG would it?

Re: LSG Book and E-Book
I was asking about "your" book that will be full of new stuff, as you clearly have one in the offing, it seems so easy to critisis other peoples efforts at getting a message out when you haven't tried yourself.
