CC - I think Omega 3 fish oils are worth a look. I got mine from Holland and Barrett - think the 1000mg ones are half price at the moment.

Re: Aloe Vera
Thanks everyone for the help.
MrsCC has ordered me a bottle of Aloe Vera juice but at £11 a litre for the max strength stuff it better be good. I dont think you need to drink much of it in one go so hopefully not as bad as it seems. The pills look good as well Lil, and cheap which is always good.
Plenty of ideas there for me to try, including the oil, thanks a lot. I think I will leave the fermented food till last though (no offence teedee
) but if it works I will willingly eat it. I have started to try and eat yoghurt but i'm not sure if the low fat strawberry flavour does the same job as the natural yoghurt...I tried the natural stuff, its a toss-up over what is worse, ibs or eating natural yoghurt

Saying that though, didn't the Mongols make an alcoholic beverage out of fermented horse milk ? ...that could kill two birds with one stone

And don't forget that it might be a good idea to try one thing at a time, as my Dr said, "try this and come back in a couple of weeks"
And listen to Chris Evans in the morning, he has IBS and often talks about it.
I think he said something about "Elimination" diet to try and find the trigger.

Re: Aloe Vera
Cheers gnole, I have been doing the elimination thing over the last 12 months or so and dont seem to be getting anywhere. As soon as I think I have found something that triggers it I cut it out but it still comes back. Possibly a combination of things which makes it extremely difficult to narrow it down.

Re: Aloe Vera
I have a friend who is into fermeted food but I cant go there
Some people say to leave out meat, CC. Go veggie for a week at a time and see if that helps. Plenty of pasta and soups and egg things but no meat.
Re: Aloe Vera
Some people also say dairy...but I guess you have probably tried that already!
Dairy, wheat, caffeine and alcohol are comman triggers I believe, but as above, I guess you have probably tried eliminating them already!
Hope you get it to a manageable state soon
Aloe vera is really easy to grow indoor in a pot, I have done so once before. Be warned though, fresh aloe vera has a really weird smell to it!!
