Mainly we store what we eat.. altho not on a daily basis, for instance we have a lot of tins of hotdogs, ham, spam etc that wil have to suffice in a meat shortage.. 2014 exp dates so plenty of time to cycle them but, we only eat them now and then.

Something i did buy but had never eaten was these burgers in a tin things... OMG the most vilest thing ive ever put in my mouth! Do not waste ur money on them.. lol I wouldnt even feed them to the dog.. VILE VILE VILE!!

Tins of beans, toms, peas and sweetcorn seem to be our mainstay of stores.. along with smash, rice, pasta and noodles.. 11p a packet!! Bargain!

We also try and store some long life fruit juices.. again, I dont dislike them but i dont drink them regulary.. We try and store biscuits and chocolate too.. fail mostly not to eat it!..lol

I rotate my stock and its only stuff that we would normally eat. At the moment I have about a months worth of supplies to feed my family a nutritionally and calorifically balanced diet. I am working on extending this and have also worked out a menu plan in order to use my stocks the most effectively way I can.

At present I have short shelf life products as well as long life - what I mean by this is months rather than years before I have to rotate it. For instance I have cereal - a large box of rice crispies - when it nears its end of life we will use it, if its still not eaten I will do other things such as make choc crispies and funnily enough they seem to disappear really quick!

We have stuff like spam etc but we all like that in a sarnie anyway, I don't think I would bother stocking anything we hated.

Ah well.... we are currently being faced with this. Would we eat what we prepped?
I have kids stopping lessons for the winter/christmas is biting into peoples' funds and a chunk has been loped of my better halfs wage. Bingle Jells for sure!

I just made yet another tea by standing in front of the prepper cupboard and combining cans in a pot. Regards the 'Dog Food' post a couple of times its fed the animals that night too. Some of the stuff we prepped was cheap and we bought it for its sell by date and to be honest one of the cans I opened tonight, well.....the dog food looks tastier! :o I seriously considered swapping with mutt. However after another can (not sooo bad), mushrooms and a cheap packet sauce we had squirreled away to you could kid yourself it was beef bourguignon - almost....

Aye after this there are certain things Im pretty sure we wont buy again and certain things that are a success, even though you do have to rack your brains a bit. Mind you if you are really USC Im pretty certain most things would taste good! ;)
