And you are then responsible to up keep the place even if it means thousands just to keep it watertight .

Off to check out another house today. Same sort of size house, age and garden size, but not listed this time. Hopefully it'll tick all my boxes, and it's £35k cheaper too
Should allow me the flexibility to add some prepper-related improvements and some spare cash (or smaller mortgage) to reduce my slavery to the banking system.
