You must have had a different model dangerman you sure you are not thinking of the G3/4 ,,,, not a removable battery on the G2 or expandable memory (got it on the £150 vodafone deal last year) :D

Duh! No, I remember now, you're right. It's just the G3 I had that could do that. To be honest, I never used to check, I'd just buy whatever phone took my fancy. Some phones I've had would do it, others didn't, like the HTC One or the G2. But now I've learned that those two features are often deliberately removed by manufacturers because it makes them more money in the long run.

Expandable memory allows me to stash spare cards in my wallet with extra videos and music (and important files) on them. The one I have in my wallet now is a 64gb and has 32gb of entertainment. If I need to take extra photos or video, I can delete what's on there to free up space. The card cost me about £12 and I can use it in my GoPro. If you want to buy a 64gb iPhone rather than the 16gb it'll cost £80 extra.

Once the battery goes bad on a fixed battery phone a majority of people won't bother, or won't know how to fix it, so will just chuck it away and buy another. With a replaceable battery you never have to worry.

Metatron. Tanstaafl: Both correct about tool and seller.

Its a MT based around heavy duty shears rather then the more common pliers, and in the same way that some plier tools have a small set of folding scissors these have a small set of folding pliers (The black thing folded flat to the handle on the right in the picture.)

I also like the removable file

Yep had 2 batteries with my last phone and prefer that , but to be fair I reckon the G2 would give those 2 batteries a run for their money , if I dont use it all morning its not surprising to see it still with 99% battery at lunch :D ... its the first smartphone I have had that I can safely use all the stuff on it all day long and not worry about it dying on me :D

I use the cloud all the time with mine so dont notice the lack of removable storage much, but did get caught out the other week when I had no signal sitting in a waiting room for 45 mins and could not access Amazon to download a book to read..lol ,,, so again would prefer a card slot :(

But it came up on hot deals for £150 ( at the time they were twice that) so snapped it up ....... another great feature that all phones should have is the double tap on screen to open/close, so much easier than a button............

What's wrong with the camera? The only one I've had that's better is the HTC One X.

Autofocus takes ages for a start, i had a £60 Huwarui (sod the spelling) and it was better then this G3 thing, G4 is way better but i'm no camera buff but the boffins love the G4

Yep but apparently a lot of smartphone cameras suffer from problems and a lot of the time installing a third party camera app can sort it........ :D

Aye, the camera is quite slow, but I've not had any problems. The quality of the images are excellent - I even bought a bridge camera from Argos because I wanted a dedicated camera thinking it would be better. It's not. Takes ages to focus, it's dead blurry and crappy half the time, and then when the image is absolutely perfect it's still not as good as my camera phone.

I might go for the G4 at some point - or maybe the G5 once it comes out. But to be honest, I've had dozens of smart phones and the newer ones are never that much better than the previous models. Once the novelty wears off I always feel disappointed.

The G2 is excellent, the G3 is better (only reason is the memory card and battery) and the G4 is slightly better again but not better enough to upgrade.

They're all just little plain black slabs at the end of the day, innit.
