Biggest threat to the UK at the moment is Islam.
30 years ago islam might as well have been on the moon for all the impact it had on the uk. Today it has an effect on everything we do from the fuel in your car, the food in your cupboards to the law and government of the country.
Most likely to happen here?
Re: Most likely to happen here?
Interesting a study by the Americans suggests that Islam will fade, because as Islamism women become more educated they will be a lower birth rate and the general demographics indicates that this will cause a depleting influence within the next 30 years

Re: Most likely to happen here?
I'm sure there's half a hundred things more worrying than this. Economy, rising prices, wage freezes, climate change, pollution, strikes, brownouts, unemployment, etcetc.
Re: Most likely to happen here?
That’s true lil
I was read somewhere else, that the most likely issue to strike us in the UK is a pandemic
Which reminds me The poor Japanese have now got an outbreak of flu just to add to their problems

Re: Most likely to happen here?
Oh god I forgot about that one ! Re Japan, its an odd time of year to have flu, wonder what that's about ??
Re: Most likely to happen here?
Not for Japan Lil, it is start of winter "down there"
Counsellor is correct though that a pandemic in the UK would be more widespread and therefore more of an "event" than almost anything else.
Terrorism, brown outs, unemployment etc etc are all "Local" events, a pandemic however would be national and highly likely to affect every family to one degree or another.

Still a lot different "round there" Lil, I remember a tale from my childhood when listening to a National serviceman who ate his christmas dinner on a beach near Singapore whilst wearing a sweatrag because of the temperature, okay they are 3000 miles apart, but both are in the Northern hemisphere
Re: Most likely to happen here?
Economy: We are currently heamoraging money on 3 wars in islamic countries. We have a massive influx of immigrants many claiming benifits. Islam out breeds us by something stupid like 8:2. All those kids are a tax burden and won't contribute for at least a decade. Granted Islam is not the only problem there. But it is a very large one and has added problems like a high rate of disability due to related marriages. A high prevelence of pedophilia due to its exceptance and normality in islamic ountries. Also immigration has resluted in diseases apearing here that havn't been seen for centuries like scarlet fever. These have very big economic impacts on local economies.diamond lil wrote:I'm sure there's half a hundred things more worrying than this. Rising prices: Mainly due to increas in fuel costs. See 'Middle east' for why fuel costs so much
Wage freezes: See economy and price rises
Climate change:
Pollution: A genuine problem, but most comes from Oil related industry or use, see Middle east
Strikes: See economy and Socialists
Brownouts: again fuel related.
Unemployment: Economy again + immigration
Islam has an an impact on most issues we face as it has become an integral part of our industry and now our society in general. That is before you start thinking about Terrorism and civil war. The only other group that can have such an Impact is the Chinese. but they are not here trying to change our laws, overthrow the government and convert us all.
The reason I say Islam is the biggest threat is because all of the above are happening right now and it will get worse. All other threats are maybee's and might happens. Islam IS happening whether you can see it or not so it must be factored into the survival equation.
Re: Most likely to happen here?
Not wishing to start an argument
But....
Whether you believe the reason for the threats are islam, christians, jews, nwo, emporer ming from the planet zog, big business, bankers, greed, or whatever..... they are irrelevant from a prepping point of view. What is relevant is the preps that you take to deal with consequences.
Not wanting to be labelled as a "control freak" or "restricting free speech" but we need to deal with the consequences of the economy going to crap, shortages of fuel, unemployment, and everything else, not dwell on the causes of them which - A. will just lead to arguments, and B. as I mentioned earlier... they are irrelevant as none of us can change government policy.
So ....lets deal with the consequences and not with our opinions of what is the cause behind them...as as been said before "opinions are like arseholes..we all got 'em"
The question in the OP was what is the most likely crisis to happen here along the lines of nuclear accident, civil disorder etc etc.....Slagging off different groups gets us absolutely nowhere
