Hadn't thought about superglue for medical use. I have a few pots dotted around work, the car and home for various hobbies/temp repairs... I have plaster and gauze in my medkit which I'm more likely to use for a cut to be honest. If I came across someone with a Vietcong style wound that required glue I'm going to be calling an ambulance. And callous it may sound, in a SHTF scenario I don't have the medical skill to keep them alive myself anyway...

that said, for the size of it could be useful to keep in there anyway!

I have since updated my bag:
2 pair socks added
Light fleece
hat/gloves added
Box cutter relegated to the toolbox in my car (blade on my multi tool is sharp enough to carry out its functions)
poncho added (£1 at homebargains! couldn't leave it there)

I want to add a collapsible water bottle and some purification tablets at some point in the near future too.

Super glue has a pretty short shelf life, around a year unopened I'm told. It may also work as a fire starter as it has a low flash point, but I've never tried it.

I use the wee 'one shot' tubes of super glue for bits and bobs, 10 for a quid from the cheapy shops. Saves messing around reopening the bigger ones and getting the stuff everywhere. While i daresay I'd carry some in a BOB if I had one it would be more useful for repairing things rather than myself. Knowing that it can be used in an emergency is handy but I hope I'm never in a position to put that knowledge to use.

Is is but the fumes are very nasty / toxic
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

I buy the £ shop ones too, they do go dry or hard if not used so best to renew or at least check every few months, but it sticks really good, i had a bit of leather stuck to my finger real good a few days ago!
