Most people have the mindset that if they have a job it is because they worked hard for it, not because of the complex international forces that have made their company possible, their education possible an even their bank account and the way that it works possible.

Their mind set relies upon the idea that there are plenty of jobs out there that they can just get whenever they want and so if someone isn't doing all that well, its because they are lazy.

If they have the health to do their job, they assume that everyone else is just as health and therefore the disabled or sickly people are just being lazy.

So why does anyone listen to "most people" who are evidently a bunch of thick dumbasses with no brains or ability to see how the world works?

From my perspective, the idea is to wake up as many other people as I possibly can to the benefits not only of a more self reliant and sustainable life but to the benefits of having a stock of food put by. If that means avoiding the word prepper, so be it. You don't need to prep specifically for an event you think may happen, just generally being more self sufficient, self reliant and sustainable is a good thing. The more people that wake up, the better it is for everyone; look at the mix of folks on here - that variety is a really good thing! There'd be sod all use for a stock broker in a post SHTF world, but if he hasn't learned how to be useful beforehand, he will after, cos if he doesn't, he won't survive. Better to try and get him started now.

Well done Dave it just takes a few food items to get the prepping bug.

When i bought my first cans of beans and can of veg and meat and water i was so excited. But cause of xmas and being sick for a week, having lost earnings due to it i haven't been able to buy anything for my stockpile. So thankfully i am paid my proper wages tomorrow and since i am off next monday, i plan to head into town early go to the outdoor shop and get some water purifying tablets and have a look at other items there. Then there is another outdoor shop in town and see what they have aswell and compare prices. I then plan to go to Tesco and stock up on canned items and water. I can't wait to get back into buying my food items again.
