Re: WINTER CHECKLIST
Seeing comment here about beach-sand, can I remind everyone that it is illegal to remove sand from the beach? The foreshore belongs to the Crown and removal of items from it is considered trespassing and theft.

Wow I never knew that, learn something new everyday. And to think I was considering using beach sand in my free standing punch bagMaddie_cat wrote:Seeing comment here about beach-sand, can I remind everyone that it is illegal to remove sand from the beach? I'd recommend using one for water. Water is a survival priority.JamesMR wrote:Recently acquired 3 X 20L Jerry Cans, debating whether to use all of them for petrol or have one with water? hmmmm

Was thinking that but I have large 5L bottles of water but as you say, water is the main priority really. I remember last year all the pipes froze so the water in the shed came in handy for washing / cooking lolThe Ace of Spades wrote:I'd recommend using one for water. Re: WINTER CHECKLIST
If it were my decision, I'd go with 2 X Fuel & 1 X Water for now, as you already have water on hand, and last winter meant you had to go to your preps. If you feel the need to store extra fuel at some point down the line, and cash allows, then get another jerrycan for that purpose. The water out of the River Mersey ain't exactly Perrier.JamesMR wrote:Was thinking that but I have large 5L bottles of water but as you say, water is the main priority really. Yet the Commoner is allowed to harvest food , fish and fowl with no hindrance nor cost? Interesting that.Maddie_cat wrote:Seeing comment here about beach-sand, can I remind everyone that it is illegal to remove sand from the beach? technically, you can't take seaweed either but fish is usually found beyond the foreshore so does not belong to the Crown.jansman wrote:Yet the Commoner is allowed to harvest food , fish and fowl with no hindrance nor cost? About 1/2 hour drive away. I would have better luck on the moors which are only 1/4 mile away.jansman wrote:Interesting Maddie. Do you live on the coast? The shore is a good foraging envionment.
