Pallets.

Post by jansman »

As many here may know from my posts, my builder friends drop off wood for my burners. Today John dropped off a dozen pallets, and there are more to come. These are good clean ones. I use stripped down pallets for greenhouse staging, compost heaps, animal housing, outhouse shelving etc etc. the remnants will go in the burner.
With timber prices only going up, this is a useful resource. Do a search for pallets and there are liads of ideas.

I have been bombarding my friends about this but none seem to get them... :(

There useful for building nice furniture if you have the time, although it does help if you have a plank thicknesser and a biscuit machine to speed the process of making sheets faster.

I have the above equipment metatron. Some years ago when we were poor newly weds, I made some kitchen cupboards from pallets. Planed and glued as boards. We had them up to a couple of years ago. We have a flash new kitchen now. Looking at some photos yesterday, my lovely Wife said she preferred the 'rustic ' look of our old kitchen.
