Privet wood???

Post by Smudge »

Anyone ever use privet wood for anything?

I'm working on a small neck knife "project", I was wondering if privet wood would be suitable for the handle? I have some seasoned it appears pretty hard just wondered if anyone knew anything about it and it's suitability as my googlefu is weak and I can't find any info.

Edit I've just had another look at my link and it seems it depends on the actual variety of privet.

Very cool thank you, I wasn't sure because of the pithy type core. I've given it ago (yesterday) will post the results once the sheath is done.
