Hi, New member here

Post by nwcoupleuk »

Hi
Just joined here, being thinking about getting organised for unforseen events for a while, especially since the fuel strikes and then more recently now the world has basically gone mental?
Just looking to be able to sit out emergency situations and look after ourselves or able to move fast elsewhere to escape any situation man made or otherwise?
very into the outdoors, now have a campervan so makes a difference and opens up options.
Like what i have seen in this Uk forum, not interested in all the US style forums but theres things to be learnt from them all?
just want to have plenty of fuel, water and food to sit out fuel strikes, terror attacks and man made events and the ability to move away quick and be self sufficient for a while to avoid other events that may threaten us.
Obviously for the serious stuff beyond your control then would you really want to be around afterwards anyway? Not like we have far to go in the uk to escape the big stuff anyway?
But Scotland is the first place to move north quick as i guess the south is the target for most loonies out there today?
Look forward to reading everyones opinions and different ideas?
Thanks.

Hi and welcome!

I'm quite new myself but have similarish ideas although I'd only be planning on going as far as the Lake District. I'd also be thinking about going on foot as something as simple as the electric being out would cause the roads to be gridlock.

The site's good but I'm finding that having to wait to have all posts approved before they go on is a bit of a pain :/. With that said, maybe I'm just too used to instant communication.

The post approval can be seen as a 'pain' but there is a reason. This site can attract the odd 'interesting' person from time to time. ;) bear with it.
