Knives. The more the merrier?

Post by Trawlerman »

I want to ask a question about my knives.
Right now I have a few cutting implements but I would appreciate any advice on buying additional ones.

My current lot:

(EDC) Gerber 3/4sz Multitool w/blade
(EDC) Kasu folding knife w/partially serrated blade
Mora 511 Basic Utility Knife
Anglo Arms Block Axe (Machete)

I'm looking to add these soon:

Bahco Laplander
Mora 546 Basic Stainless steel knife
Sharpening stone

Would this be a good kit to have or is the Mora 546 unneeded as I already have the 511. I thought about adding the 546 as they are cheaply priced but good quality overall.

Is there anything missing from my kit that you would add in?

I have to ask what you hope to achieve with these tools? What is your goal? Bushcraft, Wilderness Survival, Playing Mountain Man in the local woods?

I'm not a mora fan, I have one (wooden handle) it's ok, good even but meh! I've not handled the plastic handled Mora knives, although I came into (youtube give away prize) a Hultafors Heavy Duty Knife that was solid and comfortable to use I cached it as I don't usually use plastic handled knives.
If at first you don't succeed, excessive force is usually the answer.
