Hi All,
More information regarding learning new skills, in this case, fire-starting. This time I used a different form of ignition, in this case, 9v battery and steel wool, or in this case a new Brillo pad and a used battery. Items to light were Vaseline and wax cotton balls and tinder. The Vaseline cotton light first time. The wax ball was harder, even after 12-15 minutes could not get it to light, same with the tinder. This more than likely because of my lack of skills, at the moment. Will be going back to to this skill, when I require another 9v. as the last one went flat after awhile.
Still have to buy a flint and steel style fire steel or similar, to try other ways of starting a fire.
Another skill I have started is learning to tie basic survival knots.
Thanks for all the replies, unfortunately as a 'newbie' I have not been credited the ability to reply until I have made enough posts, 10 I think.
Cheers
Chris
New skills, another update
Re: New skills, another update
That is correct. 10 posts, and those in the New Member/ intro post areas don't count to the total.Aftershock wrote: Thanks for all the replies, unfortunately as a 'newbie' I have not been credited the ability to reply until I have made enough posts, 10 I think.

My advice would be to post in the relevant sections that we have in the Forum.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

And we want to hear about the fun experiments, so do head off into the rest of the forum to play with the rest of us, let your post count build up, and you'll be up at 10 posts before you know it.
