a hello from

Post by the_rat »

Hi there, nice to see everyone doing ok and learning well, been into this for a lot of years (im 42) pretty much started when i was 8, varying from dealing with bullies, skipping school in awful weather,finding/losing employment to learing to drive.. breaking down middle of nowhere... all this without a mobile phone and good old google to get advice.. oh and i love camping in the forest too..
dont really care much for the word "prepper" as such nor do i like the word "bug out" but that does not mean im not in favour of either... people get the wrong idea of "prepper" and dont seem to realise they too are a kind of "prepper" should they take a look at themselves.. the "bug out" i shall leave to another time/topic as it really is debatable and a decision that may or may not save your life..

also you are warned.. i go on a bit but i have my helpful moments, being prepared can take over your whole life if you let it like i did and ive ended up with equipment to hopefully face pretty much anything and always open to new ideas & tactics

look forward to speaking to you all

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I wanted to ask what are you prepping for but you don't like the word so what are your fears about the future that causes you to take action to support yourself and others.

Hi there, it's not that I don't like the word.. I kind of think both "prepping" & "bug out" spread more confusion than anything else to those not in the know.. Also remember those not in the know will be the first on ones doorstep demanding your resources during a shtf scenario.. As learned from a few fellow Americans I speak to where this way of life is quite at large over there.. It's best to just tell those that really need to know..
Why am I doing this?.. Fear mainly against the collapse of the economic system which a lot feel is not too far away as is pretty much happening over the water.. Plus many other things that I've already experienced... There are many reasons why we are drawn into it you will find its human nature to do what we are doing... Personally I think there is something big just around the corner.. What I'm not too sure but my instinct are playing crazy at the min.. Last time I was like this we had that fuel blockade in 2001... I was ok as I was "prepared" and saw that coming and maintained 2 full tanks on 2 cars at all times plus what was in storage.. My food stocks were in rotation at that time anyway so food wasn't an issue either... my locals were in real panic mode.. It was all a huge wake up call that no one seemed to learn from..
I could go on for ages lol...
