Knowing me, I'd get greasy spots/coffee stains on the fabric. But it is nice to sit and caht while you sew. DD1 is really into patchwork now having made herself a quilt to keep out the old in her drafty room at uni. She's coming home soon and is full of plans for us to have some sewing sessions
