£500 to spend before it goes Pete Tong

Post by Deeps »

Pretty much as it says, we get a days warning that the zombies/meteorites etc are about to hit us, you can get 500 quid out the cash point (I think that's the limit) ? I'll assume that you can get a last minute delivery from Amazon or whoever, this isn't that serious. What do you spend your 500 quid on ?

Myself, I'd probably blow it all on food and more bottled water from Aldi's/Tesco's with a wee trip to B&M's to get more gas canisters for my briefcase cookers. I'm sure there are more bits and bobs that I need/want (my next purchase will be a 14W solar charger for USB powered devices) but overall I think I'm good for most stuff, certainly for the scenarios I'm thinking off.

Hmm decisions, decisions!!

Zombies would be a stash of food and water to add to the supplies
Meteorite would be chocolate, chocolate and erm even more chocolate

As things stand at present, Paraffin gallons of the stuff, oh a Coleman folding oven and some more gas canisters, a top up of Cat food and I'm all good.

Add the cash to my 3 month supply and max out my credit and debit cards first.

A couple of more water filters, maybe a few more. An air rifle with a shed ton of pellets. Blankets and extra clothes from charity shops. A chinese meat cleaver if there are zombies. A decent sized axe. It that £500s worth? I'll have what's left in penny sweets.

Trip to Maplins for a decent solar charger kit, then to costco for tins of food and bottles of water, finally keeping £50 back for a dive into a off lience for a bottle of Laproaig, Penderyn or at a push Glenmorange just in case the impact zone is directly overhead .
