CKRT EAT'N Tool

Post by metatron »

I was placing an order through the tried and tested http://www.heinnie.com/ and I noticed the CKRT EAT'N Tool in the clearance section for under £3, so I thought why not?, it might be better then the Light my fire spork I use almost daily (I drive/work all over the place, so have to eat where I can)

First impressions is it has a solid construction, although using it as a pry tool (as suggested) for much more then a few minor things might be a bit to much for it. The size is a little smaller than the light my fire alternative and the weight difference is barely noticeable, bottle opener works well and it does kind of function as a screwdriver, but I think I'd stick with my Leatherman Wave, or at a push the Gerber Dime I keep on my keys for that.

Overall its a more hygienic option over a plastic spork and for £3 its a nice thing to have in your bag. If you eat ration packs or those mountain house meals, you may prefer the extra reach of the Light My Fire Spork, but I'd go with the metal version, which is quite a bit more then £3.

I have one , very handy , used it when I drove for a living.........

One thing I noticed is that it looks suspiciously like it could be used for "self defence" :o , and a quick google finds I am not the only one to notice, tho CRKT deny all knowledge of this  , check out the top right pic on the packaging and move it to the next finger..............

 I never even thought about that use...

I just got in from work (15 hours out) and used it twice, its a very handy thing, well worth the £3. I'm tempted to order a few for camping/friends.

I agree. I purchased one as a light weight piece of hiking kit and quickly found it was ill suited for use with my preferred freeze dried meals. The spoon is too short which results in messy hands reaching into the pouch.

I now carry a Toaks titanium long spoon. It's even better than the light-my-fire spoon.
