broiler chicks

Post by 23pioneer »

Hi,
how much should i be paying for broiler chicks? i put a wanted add on a local site and got 2 replies 1 saying £2.50 for 1 day old ones and 1 saying £5.00 (no age) both prices were a little more than i was expecting (well the £5 a lot more) even the one day ones i thought were expensive baring in mind the mortality rate of 1 dat old chicks.

It is about right. The producer has to make his money. If he sells them now, it will be the price he wants further up the line. He may as well hang on than go cheaper.

We sell suckling pigs at work. 200 quid. Customers will ask "how much would a full size one cost then?" Expecting a thousand based on size comparison. No, still 200 quid. That is the price, young or old.

Hope that makes sense.
