Film

Post by sophiedocu »

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sophie and I'm a filmmaker from Amsterdam. For a new television program Im looking for preppers based in London or close to London.
Lately Im thinking about prepping allot myself and I feel that people around me don't laugh anymore if you tell them they should save some cash and cans in their house.
I think it is a topic that we need to talk about and what is a better way to tell the story to a big audience then with film?
I'm in London this week and I would really like to talk to someone who would want to tell me more about prepping.
Don't doubt to ask me anything or talk to me even if your not interested in working on the film.

Looking foward to your reaction. :)

Kind regards,

Sophie

Thnx Itsybitsy,

Only talking to someone would be helpful already. Maybe its good to say that Im going to be involved in this film as well with a friend of mine who is thinking about prepping. I think there are some videos about prepping were people are made fun off but what I want to do is the opposite and try to explain what a bit of control can do for someone in times like this. And also of course learn more about it..
Anyway I will wait for reactions :)
Thanks again.

After the experience with the last journo that was approved I wouldn't bother with this. She did the usual thing of asking a couple of 'I'm really interested' questions before giving her game away and asking the usual rubbish about knives etc. Funny, she hasn't posted once since she was roundly condemned for that.

Ah, I see where kernewek was coming from with the other thread.

Sophie, can I suggest that instead of asking to meet with someone right away (and this week! we live on the same planet, you know, it's coming up to Christmas, people are busy!) why don't you do some research on the forum? It's well structured, there's a lot here.

And if you still want people to respond to you as an individual, you really need to give us some background about your work. You must have a website, a twitter feed, an Instagram account, something? People want to know who they're talking to. You can see where we're coming from, where are you coming from?

Hope this helps.

Yes ofcourse!

You can check my website: www.sophiedros.com
Allot of it is in Dutch. I will tell a little bit about myself. Im a documentary filmmaker and I make films about subjects that are made fun of in the media in the past or subjects where people have a strong opinion about. I think film should be here to learn from each other and to get to know lifestyles and people that you would not have known without film. It developed more and more into using the medium to make a fool out of people and I think that should stop. I try to really get to know a person behind a surtern lifestyle and find a connection between this person and myself. In this way I translate it to the audience and make sure people 'get it'

The reason I want to meet this week is because Im here now anyway and when you meet someone in real life you know so much quicker if you can trust them and talk to each other easier. But no problem if someone wants to chat on the forum first. You can also send me an email: documentairefilm90@gmail.com

Im checking out the website there is allot of useful stuff indeed.
Don't doubt to ask me more.

Ps I'm sorry if my English is bad...

Sophie don't know if you are aware but there is a thriving prepper community in the Netherlands and they also have forums like this one

Thanks for that, looks good, and I like the sound of it. I won't be contacting you myself as I have the long term after effects of a virus and can't travel, but I wish you well.

Don't doubt to ask me more.

I guarantee you it's better than our Dutch! Great country, the Netherlands :)

Thanks for your good wishes, Sophie.

Not sure what you mean about episode/item? Unless you mean what I said here: "Ah, I see where kernewek was coming from with the other thread. ". That would be this thread: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=12962
