I have a main B.O.B that contains a fair bit of kit that would cover a number of scenarios which will hopefully just get grabbed and thown in the campervan if required. I tend to rearrange it for summer/winter. I have a get home bag in the car, and I also have a bit of kit in my everyday workbag which goes in the lorry with me.
I know some will say why have a B.O.B. at all (or so many different bags at least) but I just look at it as insurance, having a BOB at home wouldn't be much use if i'm out in the car and things went belly up, similarly I spend most of my day in a lorry...it would be sods law that if tshtf I wouldn't be at home where my main BOB is. Hopefully I will never have to use any of them (I haven't yet) but they just help me sleep a bit easier....but hopefully not while i'm driving my truck

I don`t actually have one. 
Living elsewhere, a few years ago, I did, but now I live in one of the places many preppers are likely to run to....remote, relatively safe from ravening hordes and with a reasonable amount of natural resources (lacking trees in the immediate area is all, but plenty fresh water and wild meat and vegetation)
Plus, if TS happens, I`m just too old n creaky to take to the hills! I`m in the hills!
However, when I did have a BOB, it had winter wild camping gear ( lot of ex army stuff) plus a few days rations (this is bearing in mind, no car, so on foot) plus basic tools needed to deal with firelighting, gathering wood and digging for water etc (those army fold up shovels are also great for digging latrines
) plus basic med kit.
That`s all in the house now though. I ain`t going anywhere unless someone comes get me in a comfy car

i have 3 packs
one fully equipped 80 ltr to sustain me for a long term period, heavey but i can manage it
one 25 ltr that lives in my van full time, a much smaller then my main, more of a get home pack really
one 30 ltr that i use when i go out hiking/climbing etc, plenty of useful kit but not long term, maybe 2 days,
i also have whats known as a possbles pouch that straps around your waist, the ideal is if you lose your main pack or it get stolen you still have the basics in the pouch and i mean basics, fire steel, water tabs, multi tool, choc bar, locking knife with sharperner, cord, compass etc
It would be nice to have 1 pack suits all but my life style seems to require 3 or i end up having to keep moving things in and out of diffrent packs and then re-loading

I have the same issues!!!! I have slowly started to replicate some of the kit that I have, but I do seem to do a lot of repacking depending on whats happening!!lone wolf wrote:i have 3 packs

I currently have a BOB in the truck at all times, realistically its my kit for search & rescue, but the kit list is pretty much the same with a few additions which are of benefit regardless. Part of this includes a MOLLE vest which I am experimenting with, but from experience, I can highly recommend a 'version' of this for all preppers to carry all those bits needed at hand, just like a 'survival' vest but a bit more with it!
I also have another smaller holdall in the truck in case of break down, etc which complements the kit I already carry including vehicle kit of jump starter, spares, tools, etc. At home, I have all my exped, climbing, kayak kit which swaps from exped sack to daysack depending on work and play.
I also have of late, been carrying a manbag for day-to-day work which carries all essentials for being about (my pockets can hold so much!!) which would get me home at a push, but guarantees me getting to my truck for my BOB/ get home kit.
A possibles pouch is a great idea LW, I think I would definitely look at that if I didnt carry what I have already. In fact, to be true, I do have a E&E type pouch attached to my vest which would be much the same if I carried it everywhere!!
I have been looking at a small belt pouch to carry a 'keyring' set of flint, steel, torch, etc as a first line. I've seen a few illustrations and ideas.... what I've devised so far adds up in weight thou!! Anyone else being thinking about this kind of idea?? I think the age of carrying a survival tin has somewhat evolved now.
By the way, opened my survival tin the other day to change the codeine tablets and found my flint has completely rotted away!! I has a tin full of ferrocium dust!! CHECK YOUR TINS FOLKS!!! Anyone else had experience of this??

Not sure what a Molle vest is, but I do keep a fishing vest handy, filled with various wee bits and pieces, to slip on over my jacket when I`m out. 
I keep my flint and steel in a leather pouch, it`s been there a while and is fine, maybe try than in case something in the metal of the tins is affecting the flint?

We each have a 10L go bag (rucksack) which would cover us till we get to our BOL or the nearest youth hostel or relative (less than a day on foot). The BOL is stocked with enough to get us through a couple of months.

It's something I rent long term out of town and out of the way (and paid well in advance!).
