Not a back woods person by heart, but ex military, so a can-do attitude and survival instinct.
Recent-ish economic events (or rollercoaster of) have awoken me to how vulnerable our society is. I feel that we are on a narrow precipice which will only take the simplest event to teeter over the edge into the void.
My reason for my opinion is that no previous society has survived without either being destroyed or destroying itself. We are no exception.
I don't think that it will be "big bang" - more slow deterioration.
I am therefore preparing a short term "bug in" arrangement - I think that Exmoor will become rather crowded with individuals all pointing hunting knives at each other! (Just kidding, but we are an over-crowded island).
I also believe in zombies!
No, not the un-dead, but merely our own vacuous, narcissistic, ill-educated, crash TV audience society. At some point they will loose the ability to actually feed themselves and instead wander around seeking anything to eat. Just my opinion.I hope to learn some new things and provide my experiences/observations/opinion, if it can add value.
