G shocks best for preppers?
Just a quick one, wondering if the g shock watch range are the best watches for preppers? Or do other people have other watches they would class as the best field watch?

As for the watch it all depends what you want from one.... the Gshock watches can be on the rather bulky side and mine is in-between to tight and too slack and drives me mad when im driving.... but its hard as nails and its been whacked bashed and dunked in the sea / oil / muck no end of times
dont discount something like the timex i have one like this
http://www.timex.co.uk/node/82726
it tells the time and has the date.... (what else do you need) been analogue you can also use it for navigating
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoKQMwUx2gA
i hardly ever use the stop watch and never really need to know the time in new york or Sidney
also look into the timex ironman (similar to gshock in terms of style )
it really is a matter of personal taste over brand snobbery
at the end of the day i have had one of these:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... 533393.htm
since i was a kid its had a few straps , been swimming in it (dispite it only been water resistant) it still works fine some 15 years later. and if you bust it / loose it who cares... and is someone going to mug you for a £8 watch? go abroad often? many scallys seem fixated by a shiny watch.....

Re: G shocks best for preppers?
Each of my last G shocks went about a decade. Most of them have been solar models, but the current one I just bought has a ten year battery, and should last long enough til I need to replace it, based on past experience. None if the solar models that were on display when I bought this one were the least bit appealing, so I went with a battery powered model
BTW, there's a watch thread in the EDC subforum at the top of the page

Tbh I'm not a new user. I had to create a new user name as I couldn't remember my old one...was something like Hightower or point boy but can't remember so had to create a new one.

found these in the search for "watches" as TC says this sort of thing is found under EDC (every day carry), you will get the hang of it

If you use the phase "man up" you have alot to learn.

Then a new introductory post wouldn't go amiss.Tootall1994 wrote:Tbh I'm not a new user. I had to create a new user name as I couldn't remember my old one...was something like Hightower or point boy but can't remember so had to create a new one.
Many thanks.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
