Glucose Gels- prepper energy

Post by covertcolin »

Technically this is equipment- its a fast acting glucose gel in small pouches, often used by athletes and runners etc.

The company that sell them (no connections) have a deal currently where you can order 12 and pay only £3.99 postage. saving quite a lump sum.

I have done this... twice, and received the items. all with over a years shelf life

Ideal for putting in the car or a rucksack for fuel when required, I also have one in my FAK as they're easily absorbed (thinking hypoglycaemia). I have stashed several in my BOB, my daybag and glove box.

Let me know what you think.

Have you tried them? Not overly nice unless you have water to swill them down with

Their chocolate brownie fudge cake is awful and i like chocolate! its so sweet its sickly

Each to their own but buy one bar from Tesco before you drop £15 or so on a box full
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

I used them lots of times the last being on a 10 mile run last weekend.

They work and they do not taste that nice.

But I recommend them.

Yorkshire andy- £3.99 not £15

Yes ive tried them on various 10km events and in martial arts. They're rapid acting glucose gels. Not a banquet dinner in the curry house. Bit grim but ok.

The choc stuff are the bars.. . Not the gels.

They work. Theyre cheapish.

Maybe these...

or these....

I keep the dextro-energy tabs in my bags. My sister was diabetic and we always had these in the house and just about every bag so I simply carries on doing it.

If it keeps you alive down the hatch, hell people say no way now but when it gets bad people will be killing each other for a tin of cat food
