PLCE Webbing - Main Yoke Belt Location?

Post by FlashPan »

Hi guys,

I'm just rediscovering the PLCE system I brought quite a while back. Am considering now with all the belt pouches/yoke etc it may make a good BOB of sorts and I can use this with a smaller back pack.

Anyhow, I recall thinking to myself 10 years ago a question I never really had answered or knew how to ask (sites like this didn't exist then).

So, you may recall the PLCE kits had the main yoke belt with the large black plastic buckle. I was wondering what is the best (or instructed) position to wear it? I mean in the sense that you will already have a belt (maybe same buckle) holding up your trousers.

Should the plce belt sit above the trouser belt or in front/over the top of?

I was thinking that if above, then you have the bend you arms more or restricted access to get into the pouches. If on top/over off the trouser belt then access to that is restricted for that belt plus the 2 will protrude outwards more and rub, clang together with movement.

I freely admit am a bit of a over thinker :) but sometimes these questions just needs answering for sanities sake :?

Cheers

Hi I would recommend having belt on pelvis (iliac crest) so that it takes the weight. adjust belt with jacket and shirt on so that you have good adjustment for more/less clothes. then put yoke on. Using a long 15/20mm belt threaded through lower loops of pouches will stop them moving. it is not a very grey man approach.

Thanks for the info guys.

From the wiki its seems to be do want you want, although was not too specific.

If I understand where my ilian crest is then I would think I would need to pull my trousers up further and the belt would sit above the webbing belt.

I guess then in reality that it's just a play with it and find what is bets for you, their is no documentend or preferred method.

Cheers again :)
