5ltrs of bottled water for 99p at Tesco, or 3x 2ltrs bottles for £1!

I fill a 1000ltr IBC container for about £1.

So I bought a load of military 20ltr plastic jerry cans for £2 each and filled them, a few drops of bleach and a cool dark place, and a good rotation and it is money well spent.

Good info BP, Lidl also do bottled water very cheap. I think it's always handy to have some bottles you can grab quickly, and they are also handy to to give to a neighbour etc just to tide them over. Our water went off a month or so ago for most of the day and I gave a couple of bottles to the next door neighbours who are quite elderly so they could have a cup of tea etc....earned me some brownie points :D

I generally get 10 litres at Tesco for under a quid. They do their own 'Basics' range - it's around 16/17p for 2 litre bottles, still and sparkling.

Sparkling water is just wrong. I have a couple of 5 litre bottles stashed away for an emergency.

Those 1,000 litres containers are great if you have somewhere to to put one. Someone was selling them near me for £15 each but I couldn't get one round the back of my house which gutted me.

We had a day last month where the water was brown. Rang the local water company and they couldn't give two hoots. Just said there must be some work going on nearby. They even said they only cover the tap in your kitchen!!!! Upstairs taps are nothing to do with them!!!! It was soming out brown from all thetaps but I thought what a cheek.

When I build my earthship I will be collecting my own water for free and they can go whistle.
