Planter Garden

Post by Brambles »

Well, I may not have the allotment, but it's amazing what you can do with a few cheapo planters from Wilkinsons. :P

I took a risk and planted out the sweet potatoes, they were looking a bit sad their pots. I have got some cloches to put over them at night. Next is to get some phostrogen to feed them all with

Excellent stuff!! I mostly plant in pots, owing to being somewhat urban! I've been getting self-watering balconnieres over the last few years ('cos they're not cheap to buy in one go) and they do help on the watering front. One hot day here in the smoke and your pots are dust.

I'm going to try burying a bottle in each planter to help with watering.

Nothing holds back a true gardener! I have been messing with containers these last few years,in order to free up garden space.I considered another allotment, but I have neither time nor energy.

I'm quite enjoying the freedom of not being tied to the graft of an allotment and I'm really enjoying seeing what I can do with some planters.

Future reference when making the pots up a 5+ baby's nappy (ideally clean ish ;) ) with the pad cut out and laid at the bottom holds a hell of a lot of water

Look into a bucket of pelleted chicken poo can use as a mix with compost or a top dressing (slower release) or mix in the watering can
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Hmm...I presumed joking at first about the "clean ish" but actually...if it's just No.1s...then presumably that's added organic nitrogen for healthy green leaf growth! :D
