Hi Guys.
When I joined, I said I would be asking questions, so here goes another one.
My wife uses a CPAP machine at night and I want to get a power inverter to power the machine in the event of power cuts. I am looking at this one. I know for the price it's not going to be the best in the world, but do you guys think it's a good starting place.
Thanks.

Re: Power Inverters
Stop don't buy anything yet ...
What is the power supply like?
Has it got a inline transformer?
You will find a cheap inverter pants .. modified sine wave will wreck sensitive electronics
Can you get a 12v lead for her machine?
Less loss = longer battery life
If the unit uses 12v via a transformer it will be more efficient than stepping up to 240v AC then stepping down

No problem..
This conversation came up at work this week our fitter has aponea and caravans
Other option is to get her a backup unit which takes 12v be more reliable
A leisure battery can be charged via solar / wind / jump leads onto the car etc ..
Just seen the sites adapter for a battery £30!!!

what cpap machine does your wife have , mines a resmed air sense 10 , this uses a step down on the power and what looks like an old radio lead plug , the two hole type .
you can by a 12volt connection for them .
i was thinking along the lines or buying a spare lead and putting clips on it .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .
