What body armour do you possess?
With the number of gangs of looting, starving people roaming the streets after a societal collapse, no doubt with weapons of various types including small arms and blades what protection have you thought about getting to save your skin from being punctured.
Personally I have an overt German Kevlar jacket with a couple of UK ceramic plates a set of stainless steel armadillo plates, for lower abdomen and kidney protection and a lightweight stab vest for covert wearing.
A pair of Kevlar gloves are on the list as well.
None of it is "perfect" as we are aware that a leg injury can still cause serious problems and gang members or untrained shooters are not likely to play by the usual rules.

Bl**dy hell
(as you can tell from my response I hadn't given it a thought)
Re: Body protection
Ebay has some "interesting" kit available, but it doesn't all have to look militaristic, a lot of motor cycle clothing is now kevlar material, even possible to buy a pair of jeans.preppingsu wrote:the-gnole wrote:What body armour do you possess?

Just don't be too shocked at the prices
Re: Body protection
Well, if its expensive then it goes to the bottom of the list, I'm afraid. Will investigate more tomorrow!
Re: Body protection
Some stuff you can pick up at a "sensible" price, I think my covert jacket was under £40, ceramic plates added another £20, Armadillo plates were a fiver, covert jacket was about £25, a lot for some, but heck it is better than a holepreppingsu wrote:Well, if its expensive then it goes to the bottom of the list, I'm afraid. Re: Body protection
I have a jacket with groan pads, Still havn't got any plates for it. Kevlar helmet (standard forces issue) and the best I could find for leg protection was kevlar chainsaw trousers. Not sure well they would stop anything, but better than nothing.
Re: Body protection
A lot of mororcycle "kevlar" jeans tend to have the kevlar only at the impact points, knees, hips, arse etc. Some have it all the way down to the knees, worth checking before you buy if you are buying online. Prices tend to range from around £70 - £130 for the jeans
Re: Body protection
Hopefully you will never need to use it under stress conditions but my best guess is that most badboys will be using shotguns rather than HP rifles and machineguns, so a bit of extra padding under your kevlar outer shell will cut down penetration.
Re: Body protection
The chainsaw trousers will stop chainsaws but not much else, they are filled with kevlar strands which jam up the saw. They will keep you warm though!SW_pheonix wrote:I have a jacket with groan pads, Still havn't got any plates for it.
